 Palm Frequently Asked Questions
Solution 1. Why do I receive the message "Sorry, the operation could not be completed due to a system error: File Not Found" when I try to install the Palm module on OS X?

Before installing the Palm module, please be sure that you have logged in as an administrator on your OS X machine.

2. Why is the "OK" button grayed out in the Palm Options dialog?

Most likely, your copy of MicroGrade has not yet been registered with a serial number that allows you to unlock the Palm features. If you have purchased the Palm module and received your new serial number, please use the "Update Registration" function in the File menu to enter your new serial number. Once you do this, the Palm features will be available to use.

3. Why aren't my classes syncing at all?

To ensure that you are able to sync successfully, you should review this list:

- Is the "Sync This Grading Period With My Palm" box checked?

- Were any of your classes created in an older version of MicroGrade?

- Is MicroGrade closed completely before you try to sync?

- Do you have any blank grading periods in your file that are labeled as "Untitled"?

4. Why does marking a grade for one student on the Palm cause all students to receive the same grade?

All students need to have an ID number assigned in MicroGrade before you sync your class to the Palm, otherwise this issue can occur.

5. Why does the attendance screen only show a certain number of days at a time?

To minimize memory usage on the Palm, the attendance module will only show 10 days of attendance data on the Palm: the last 3 meeting days and the next 7 meeting days.

At the beginning or end of a class, it will display the first 10 days or the last 10 days.

6. Why does one class replace another that I synced previously?

Some users report that when syncing to the Palm, the classes replace one another instead of syncing properly. To resolve this issue, open each class in MicroGrade and perform a Save As on each file and save the files under new names. Once this is done, the classes should sync properly.
